Use public clients for browser and mobile apps. Choose confidential only for server-side applications that can protect a secret.
Keep confidential secrets out of browser apps
Client IDs are identifiers, not secrets. A confidential client secret is shown only in the create response; store it in your server's secret manager immediately. Never paste it into public website code.
